Spring is in the air 07.09.2010
The air temperature is on the rise and the days are getting longer. Its time to get your gear serviced and get ready for the arrival of the school snapper in to the harbour. The males move in first and there are already good reports coming in of good catches of male fish in as close as the noises.
Last week there were birds all over and big schools of baitfish showing up on the sounder. Gannets and Dolphins have been active and the work up season is starting right now. When the weather allows we will be catching prime spring snapper over the next two months. Often the first fish to move in are large, so if you’re looking to catch that fish of a life time book a charter in September and Early October to increase your chances of catching the big one.
We have also been catching Squid which is a lot of fun and they certainly taste good. I have written an article in the latest NZ Fishing News Magazine. If your interested in the exciting new sport give us a call and we will take you squid fishing, or we can combine it with a snapper trip. NOW’s the time book your trip and come for a days fishing onboard Wave dancer.
